Erin Cheeks
Erin Cheeks Erin entered our Recording Engineer School in 1997. Before she even completed the course everyone here immediately recognized her many talents.  She started working at LIRS as soon as she certified as an audio engineer. Being the youngest member of the L- team Erin brings not only youth, but also a new generation of ideas and sounds to our producing staff. Our founder Wil Freebody, often has remarked, " I have shoes older than Erin". Listening to her creative and unique blends is profusely apparent on any of her productions (Mystery Revealed, Noel, Broken Dreams).

Steve Nall
Steve Nall Steve has been with the company since its inception. As studio manager he is the "go to guy" whenever anyone needs assistance. Not only our head engineer, but quite a prolific musician and producer in his own right.  Steve is also a columnist for the monthly statewide publication ME Magazine. His sharp wit and keen sense of humor illuminates the Lexington Scene every month. Steve and Wil have been connected musically since 1986. He is the backbone and the heart of the L team.

Sir Mack Rice
Sir Mack Rice is the “granddaddy” of the Studio L Team. He has influenced all of us from his early days with Stax to his most current writings for Robert Cray. We feel fortunate and honored to be associated with him.

TD
TD is the founder and leader of one of the longest running bands in Lexington, Scandalous. His unique brand of blues, makes him one of Ky's most unusual and interesting guitar players. He can be seen weekly at his own club, ironically called TD's.

Rabbit Easter
Award winning multi-instrumentalist Steve "Rabbit" Easter has enjoyed renowned career in Southern Gospel music.   His pedal steel and dobro talents have been put to good use including tenures with the Happy Goodman Family, the Crabb Family and now a successful solo ministry. But with all that activity, Rabbit can still work in a session or two as evidenced by his excellent work  on America's Hope by Tranquillity Recording artist the Barkley Family.

Eric White
Lexington¹s own Eric White of the regional group ILL SUBLIMINAL has provided the drumming force for many a recording at Long Island Recording Company. Country Real Man, Gospel Let Jesus Set You Free  jazz and pop.  But don't restrict Eric to just the five piece set!!  If exotic percussion (ie congas, timbales, cabasa etc etc...) is what you need, check out Hunter Ashley's Lord Of All to sample a little of Eric's latin flair.

Michael Thomas
Michael Devon Thomas Michael has been with LIRCS since 1995. Prolific songwriter, accomplished engineer, superb musician, all part of the persona that makes up MT.  However there is more. Michael is our most versatile producer. He captures the Nashville sound when called upon . Equally at home with both Southern Gospel  or Contemporary Christian . The Heart of Rock n Roll is in Cleveland, and the heart of Michael Thomas is in Rock. Perhaps Michael's finest asset is his ability to get the most out of anyone he works with.  We feel fortunate to have MT as part of the L- Team.

Tinker Ball
Charleston, West Virginia native Tinker Ball has earned a wealth of experience during his 30 plus years as a musician.  His saxophone can add the sweetest touch, as in New York State of Mind and God Bless the Child or growl it out on sax driven songs like Shotgun and Mustang Sally.

Mike Cooley
Mike has been a top piano player in the Lexington, Louisville, and Eastern Ky for nearly 30 yrs. He has a Masters in Music and has been both a choir and band director for 20 years. The natural dichotomy of his talents has him performing regularly in the local nightclub scene and on Sunday morning as the church organist. He serves on the Board of Directors for The Lexington School for Recording Arts.

Jody Conley
From stage to studio,  Jody's experience encompasses the full spectrum of a musical life.  While his forte is keyboards and piano, Live to Tell and Welcome Home, Jody's talents also include guitar, bass and vocals.  Recently,  Jody added touring with Lexington's country music sensation,  Exile, to his already impressive resume.

James Whited
James is considered, by all that know him, to be one of finest musicians in the country. Anyone that has recorded with him has come away feeling that they have gained considerable knowledge and experience. Besides his critically acclaimed guitar playing, he plays the keys and the sax. He provides exceptional professional experience for students enrolled in the Recording School. James has been with the Ky Opry since it's inception and can be seen regularly at the Mountain Arts Center.

Kory Caudill
Kory is  a member of the Kentucky Opery and over the past six-years, he has grown from just being a member of the Opry to what some might call "the star of the show".  Kory is currently attending the Governors School for the Arts and he is one of only eight piano players in the state of Kentucky to be chosen for this honor.  Watch for Kory to do great things in the very near future!

Bruce Smith
If the soulful sounds of the Hammond B-3 organ is what you need, then look no further than Lexington's own Bruce Smith. But Bruce is not limited to just the B-3; he is equally skilled on all keyboard instruments as witnessed by his association as the keyboardist for the Sir Mack Rice band.  Bruce can also be heard regularly in the Lexington area with the talented group Scandalous playing the best from yesterday and today.
