trudge ~ Liner Notes
Trudge began in the mid 1990's by guitarist Steve Nall and vocalist/keyboardist Zach Reynolds. Originally begun as a way to pass the time between bands, the two quickly saw how well they worked together and decided to develop the project into a full scale band.
With the shared influences of bands such as Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Staind, and Soundgarden, their styles gelled instantly. The hard rockin' song "Dose", from their first writing session, has had little revision since it was first written.
Mixing keyboard laden passages a' la Pink Floyd (another big influence of Zach) and heavy hitting drop D riffs, Trudge puts a new twist on the grunge/rock m.o.
Recently, Trudge entered Long Island Recording Co. in Lexington, Ky and recorded their debut cd. With a revolving door of drummers and bassists, Steve and Zach decided to take a gamble and break up the live band. The decision was made that the group worked better and the song quality was better when left up to the two of them.
In early 2000, the band decided to give the world a preview of their sound by independently releasing the ballad "Blur" on the internet. Within four months, the song had been downloaded over 800 times! Certainly, the world has chosen to openly embrace the Trudge sound, and the band is sure that this initial interest is only the beginning.
With the imminent release of their cd, Trudge is eagerly awaiting fan reaction, and are excited at the prospect of touring in support of the new cd.
